Triumph Daytona 1200 1997 Diablo Black

Triumph Daytona 1200

1997 Diablo Black

Triumph’s Daytona 1200 was at its launch the most powerful machine that the newly revitalised Triumph factory had produced. Using a revised 1200 Trophy motor it produced an impressive 147bhp and 160mph+ top speed. These figures are impressive even in today’s sports touring class.

Designed using a modular platform consisting of the Trophy, Sprint, Trident, Speed Triple and Daytona. The 1200 Daytona was produced from 1992 (in the 1000cc Daytona 1000) until its last model run 1997/8 when Triumph dropped the use of four cylinder engines in favour of there now world renowned triples and twins. The 1200 daytona represents the last of an era when triumph where still finding their feet in the global market. Today the Daytona makes for a very comfortable, rapid and smooth sports tourer, which will still hold its own against more modern machinery
